Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect. I have used Malwarebytes to eliminate one of the worst spyware/malware programs known as Antivirus 2009 which other antivirus/antispyware software fail to remove or even detect.

Spybot Search and Destroy is probably the anti-spyware/malware product that has been out there the longest. It's still being updated routinely and as far as I know it is the only free anti-spyware product out there that offers real-time protection. I'm listing this product because of it's realtime protection but I would still urge you to download Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware for manual scanning as they catch some malware that spybot misses.
